Labeling machine is used to apply labels to various products such as Ampoules, Vials, Bottles, Jars, Container, Canisters, Cartons, Boxes, Caps packages etc. The labeling machines are also known as labeling systems, labeling equipment, labeling machines, labeler, labeling machinery, labelling machinery, labelling machine, labellers, labelling equipment. Many Labelling machines are not only used to dispense or apply labels, but also to print labels. There is a wide range of Labelling machines available in the market, ranging from high–production units that allow for complete automation of the print and apply process to manual devices that provide for simple label dispensing.
Some Labelling machines are designed to apply labels to specific items or products, while others are designed for use with a wide range of packages, containers, and products. There are various models of labeling machines currently available in the market for the different application. Labelling machine can equipped with various type of coding equipment to print Batch No., Mfg. Date etc. on labels during online operation of labeling.
Labelling machines are used in wide range of industries such as Pharmaceuticals, Cosmetics, Chemical, Food, Beverage, Pesticides, Gifts, Agriculture, Electronics and many more. Some companies use Labelling machines that are small, handheld, and easily portable to apply labels on different products.
Labelling machines also comes with special design to accommodate requirement of small scale companies where they do not have higher production requirement but similarly they have to do labeling on multiple product and packages where automatic labeling machine is not feasible.

There are many different types of labeling machines available in the market depending on the requirement of customer, speed of line, type of product package and type of labels to be applied. There are different kind of labeling machines or technology available in the market to apply the label or to decorate the product of packaging such as Wet Glue or Cold Glue Labelling Machine, Sticker Labelling or Pressure Sensitive Labelling or Self Adhesive Labelling, Roll Feed Labelling with Hot Melt Glue, Shrink Sleeve application etc. It ranges from small handheld devices to massive Automatic ones. Some are incredibly inexpensive while others represent a major investment. Let us look at the most common types of labeling machines.
Automatic Labelling Machines
Automatic labelling machines are used for high-volume jobs and also for online operation. This labeling machine can be connected directly to any production line to apply the filled and packed products and containers, where this products or container travel directly to the labeling machine and further transferred for packing after labeling. A conveyor belt moves the item to be labelled into position where it is sensed and a label is applied. Labelling machines are chosen based on the amount of labelling to be done, and the different types of machines are built to handle different workloads.

Semi Automatic Labelling Machines
Semi automatic labelling machines are often used in a slightly less hectic environment than fully automatic labelling machines. When semi-automatic machines are used, a person manually positions the item to be labelled and then activates one of the labelling machines. The label is applied mechanically. Semi Automatic label machines are sometimes referred as a offline labeling machine where product/container handling is manually done by operator. However few machines are also available with small automation such as Electronic label pickup system in such case when operator feed the product to the machine to apply the label machine automatically sense the product and apply one label on it.

Conventionally, the labelling machine comprises a supply reel for a band carrying labels, a receiving reel for winding up the band after stripping of the labels, a distribution plate placed close to two deviating bars, deviating the band so that it forms a sharp angle in its path between the first deviating bar, the distribution plate and the second deviating bar, and a band pulling system placed after the second deviating bar. Where as in Cold Glue or Wet Glue labeling system the labels come in cut form. The labels is Plain Paper label and the gluing process is done online by machine at the time of labeling. This type of labeling is mainly suitable for Glass Vials and Bottles. Paper label is still cheapest option for labeling compare to other technology.

Labeling machines are used in the various industries such as pharmaceutical, food and beverage, cosmetic, animal care, mail, agricultural, electronics, laboratory, construction, data collection and communications.
Labelling machine is used for applying labels on tubes, bottles, boxes semi-automatically/automatically with high speed, efficiency and accuracy. In pharmaceutical industry labeling machines are used for numerous purposes, such as for product information, bar codes and inventory control and pricing, print and apply labels on bottles, ampoule, vial etc.

Applicator – An apparatus that automatically applies labels to products.
Barcode – A binary coding system in optical reading that uses bars of differing thicknesses or positions in the encoded field.
Debossing – A procedure that involves pressing an image down into a paper surface. This method is different from embossing, which produces a raised image.
Dry Mount – Using heat sensitive adhesives to paste.
Face Cut Label – Square cut or die cut label that does not leave waste or matrix between the removed labels.
High Temperature Adhesive – An adhesive for labeling in environments where the heat exposure exceeds four hundred and fifty degrees.
Stability – A paper’s ability to maintain its size when subjected to temperature, moisture and pressure changes.
